River Holme Connections

In 2012, a group of like-minded individuals got together to improve the River Holme in Holmfirth. Following successful clean-up events, it became clear that local people really cared about the river. The desire to make more improvements throughout the catchment became a reality and charity River 2015 was created. Connecticut Institute of Water Resources

While located at the University of Connecticut, the Connecticut Institute of Water Resources’s mission is to collaborate with and serve all colleges and universities in the state to resolve state and regional water related problems and provide a strong connection between water resource managers and the academic community, in addition to sharing the results of water resources research and other information with the general public.

The IBKF is the directory board for any matter concerning Lake Constance fishery. The board meets once a year, whereas the boards chairman changes every three years on a rotational basis. Resolutions on fishery regulations must be decided unanimously to make sure the interests of all contracting states are respected. Resolutions made by the IBKF must be implemented in national law. The decisions of the IBKF are assembled in the assemblage of resolutions.

Marañón Waterkeeper

The Marañón is one of the last major free flowing tributaries to the Amazon. It is a vital link between the Andes Mountains and the Amazonian lowlands. Each year at high water the Marañón runs brown with sediment flowing down from the mountains. This is deposited in the rainforest, essentially feeding the Amazon with soil and nutrients that the ecosystems need to survive. If this connectivity between mountains and Amazon is broken, the results will be disastrous.
