Community Managed Bio-Industrial Watershed Project, MSSRF

The community managed bio-industrial watershed project in Illupur, Pudukkottai disrict in Tamil Nadu involves conservation and management of water resources in order to increase crop productivity and profitability. It also aims to enhance and encourage non-farm employment and income generaing opportunities through market driven enterprises. The MS Swaminathan Research Foundation received the Bhoomijal Samvardhan Puraskar Ground water Augmentation Award in 2010 by the Ministry of Water Resources, Government of India.
