Bayou Land Conservancy

Bayou Land Conservancy is able to manage and permanently protect thousands of acres thanks in large part to the thousands of hours provided by expert volunteers. These volunteers are biologists, Master Naturalists, and attorneys. We also receive partner with local, state and federal agency representatives.

Paiwalla, formerly a dairy farm on the floodplains of the lower Murray in South Australia, has been purchased and restored to wetland by the Wetland Habitats Trust. The Trust is a community group of 15 unit holders who preserve and maintain the area with ongoing financial support and voluntary labour. Paiwalla is a site of significance for the protection of many species of birds and other wildlife.
