Aboriginal elders in northern New South Wales have thrown their support behind the transformation of a former cattle station.. into a wildlife reserve. Seasonal wetlands that border Naree station are a mecca for water birds and other wildlife. But the new reserve could be vulnerable to potential water use changes in Queensland.
It's a 14 thousand hectare property, north- west of Bourke, situated on floodplains between the Paroo and Warrego Rivers. Our trip there was paid for by Bush Heritage Australia.
