Welcome to the Blue Ridge Mountain Communities Area Watershed Plan website. Stakeholders of "the Mountain" within Jefferson County formed a 501.C.3, not for profit organization called the Blue Ridge Watershed Coalition. This group was formed to preserve the watershed of the West Virginia Blue Ridge mountains. Current members of the Coalition are interested in inviting new members to join their group.

The mission of the Anacostia Watershed Society is to protect and restore the Anacostia River and its watershed communities by cleaning the water, recovering the shores, and honoring the heritage.

"The Potomac River gathers water from parts of Maryland, Pennsylvania, Virginia, West Virginia, and the District of Columbia. This expanse of land (the Potomac’s watershed) plays an important role in river health. Small streams pass through forests and farms, towns and rural communities, and come together to form the Potomac River.
