Full-length 29-minute version of River Lab Trailer. In 1966, the Mill River Wetland Committee, a grassroots organization in Fairfield, CT, starts an environmental education program focused on river basin ecology and management called River-Lab. The program, developed and taught by parents and other volunteers, is integrated into local schools with the participation of school officials and teachers. By involving parents as volunteers, the program teaches not only the children, but also the volunteers and the community at large.
