The Copper River Knowledge System is designed to facilitate the exchange of information about the natural and human resources of the Copper River Region.
While the land is owned and managed by many throughout the Copper River watershed, water flows where it will and fish, wildlife, and vegetation live wherever their nature directs.
To get a grasp of the dynamic nature of the watershed, it is necessary to gather information from many sources and put it into a centralized spot. The Copper River Knowledge System is this centralized spot. Most, if not all, of the information currently available on the Copper River Knowledge System is public information. Numerous partners throughout the watershed are sharing data and information they assembled through this system.
