Bay of Plenty Regional Council monitors rivers, lakes, tidal, rainfall, meteorological and air quality sites throughout the Bay of Plenty. The majority of these sites are telemetered i.e. the data from them is transmitted back to base via the radio or phone network.

VRA is the major power generation company, solely owned by the Government of Ghana and established in 1961 by an Act of Parliament. It forms the first arm of the electricity generation, transmission and distribution chain in Ghana. VRA combines hydro, thermal and solar plants to generate electricity for supply to the local and export markets.
