This map was obtained using the rough data of "Chelsa Model" (CHELSEA_CLIMATE). We have aggregated these data by year and regrouped by period of 10 years. The mean annual rainfall for the whole period 1927-2016 is represented on the map. It has then been clipped to the Basin layer.
CHELSA is a high resolution (30 arc sec) climate data set for the earth land surface areas currently hosted by the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research WSL. It includes monthly mean temperature and precipitation patterns for various time periods.
CHELSA is based on a quasi-mechanistical statistical downscaling of reanalysis and global circulation model output and is freely available in the download section.
