Wetland conservation in Bhutan (RAMSAR convention)

The Ramsar Convention came into force for Bhutan on 7 September 2012, with the designation of two sites as Wetlands of International Importance, Bumdeling and Khotokha, representing a total surface area of 256 hectares. This wetland documentary, entitled "Conservation of Wetlands in Bhutan", presents two Ramsar Sites in Bhutan and the possibility of declaring more Ramsar Sites. The short 3 minute version of the film provides information on the services and functions provided by wetlands and their values to local communities. The 30 minute documentary was broadcast on national television and 100 DVD copies were distributed to government departments, NGOs and schools.
