The Great Lakes Commission

The Great Lakes Commission is an interstate compact agency that promotes the orderly, integrated and comprehensive development, use and conservation of the water and related natural resources of the Great Lakes basin and St. Lawrence River. Its members include the eight Great Lakes states with associate member status for the Canadian provinces of Ontario and Québec.

The Upper Mississippi River Basin Association (UMRBA) is a regional interstate organization formed by the Governors of Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Missouri, and Wisconsin to coordinate the states' river-related programs and policies and work with federal agencies that have river responsibilities. Les Commissions Internationales pour la Protection de la Moselle et de la Sarre (CIPMS) existent depuis 50 ans. Suite à la Convention sur la canalisation de la Moselle du 27 octobre 1956, les gouvernements de la République Fédérale d’Allemagne, de la République française et du Grand-Duché de Luxembourg signèrent, le 20 décembre 1961 à Paris, la convention portant création d’une Commission Internationale pour la protection de la Moselle contre la pollution.
