Unpacking water conflict in Guanacaste, Costa Rica (Global Water Forum)

"There is a need to better understand water conflicts at regional scales. Prevailing studies often examine water conflict at broad macro scales, yet the most intense water conflicts occur within sub-national or sub-regional contexts. Here we examine the case of Guanacaste Province in the seasonally dry region of northwest Costa Rica. A recent study identified 65 significant water conflicts in Guanacaste between 1997 and 2006."
