Named for the river systems that flow into it, the Mission-Aransas reserve protects 185,708 acres of coastal prairie, oak motte, riparian freshwater, salt marsh habitat, tidal flats, seagrass beds, mangroves, and oyster reefs. The north side of the reserve is the winter home to the critically endangered whooping crane.

The River Lea and its tributaries - the Mimram, Beane, Ash, Rib, Quin and Stort - drain over 1000 km2 of south-east England. These rivers include rare and precious chalk streams, canals and navigations, and urban watercourses.

Upper San Pedro Partnership

A consortium of agencies and organizations working together to meet the long-term water needs of the Sierra Vista Subwatershed by achieving sustainable yield of the regional aquifer . The purpose of the Partnership is to coordinate and cooperate in the identification, prioritization and implementation of comprehensive policies and projects to assist in meeting water needs in the Sierra Vista Subwatershed of the Upper San Pedro River Basin.
