Participatory science in the Tana Delta

The Tana Delta in Kenya is a wetland of exceptional value but faces many challenges (reduction of the flood pulse caused by upstream hydropower dams, conversion of the land to large-scale irrigation schemes for biofuel production, etc.). A team of Kenyan and French scientists from the Institute of Research for Development (IRD www.ird.fr) and the Kenya Wetlands Biodiversity Research team (KENWEB http://www.museums.or.ke/content/view/187/31/) conduct multidisciplinary and participatory research to explore the possible futures of the Tana Delta. A 25 minute documentary by the Kenyan filmmaker Khamis Ramadhan.
