Since 1993, Partners FOR the Saskatchewan River Basin (PFSRB) has promoted stewardship and sustainability of the Saskatchewan River Basin , an international watershed stretching over the three Prairie Provinces and a portion of Montana . More than 3 million people live within the basin which includes the North Saskatchewan, Red Deer, Oldman, Bow, Highwood, South Saskatchewan, Battle, Saskatchewan, St. Mary, and Carrot Rivers.

The principal source of information for the Atlas of the Juba and Shabelle Rivers is the aerial photographic survey conducted in January-February 2008 (see full dataset information in 6.0). The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) has measured the elevation of Great Salt Lake since 1875 and conducted many studies on the hydrology, salinity, water quality, and ecology of the lake. Currently, the USGS operates lake elevation gages at Saltair Marina, Saline (north arm), and on the railroad causeway near Promontory Point.

The Orange-Senqu River basin is located in southern Africa, encompassing all of Lesotho, a large portion of South Africa, southern Namibia and southwestern Botswana. The Orange-Senqu RAK supports capacity development and the sustainable management of the environment and resources within the basin.

The River Awareness Kit (RAK) is an approach to information sharing pioneered in the Mekong River Basin by Hatfield Consultants.
